3 Ways to Take Better Care of Your Hair
There are a few things that you can do to care for your hair that don’t require any products. If you feel like your hair is in need of a little TLC this summer, try making these small changes to your routine:
1) Brush your hair out before washing it: This will loosen up any dirt and product in your hair whilst removing any tangles so you can wash your hair properly after it’s wet. Wet hair is up to 50% more elastic than dry hair, so tangles on wet hair will stretch and tear much worse than tangles on dry hair. When brushing, start at the bottom and work your way up towards the root area. Brush in long strokes until your hair is completely smooth before washing.
2) Leave your conditioner in for a few minutes: This will give the product some time to work and soften up the hair shaft.
3) Only partially rinse out your conditioner: This is the easiest and most effective thing you can do to make sure your hair is super soft and smooth. It is okay to leave a small amount of conditioner behind on your hair after washing, and you’ll find that you have much fewer tangles because of it.
We can all try these simple steps, the bonus being none of these steps cost a penny! That being said, they are valuable tips that will help you care for your hair in the long run.
