Tip 1: Protect Your Hair

You may not know but it’s not just sun exposure you need to worry about, wind and rain is also a big pain for our hair. Exposure to excessive sun, heat, dirt, pollution, etc. can add to a list of things that are damaging our hair. These can lead to dirt build up, drying out of hair and even increased susceptibility to infections on the scalp. Cover your hair with an umbrella or a hat in the rain and always use sun hair protection in the sun.

Tip 2: Be careful with Wet Hair

Wet hair is very fragile and breaks easily. When wet, the shaft and roots of your hair are more prone to sustaining damage. Don’t be too harsh when shampooing. Breakage begins there. Also, avoid brushing immediately after a shower.

Tip 3: Always Condition your hair

Use a moisturising conditioner after every wash. Never walk out of a shower without it. If you are missing this step, this could be the reason why your hair is frizzy. If you’re hair tends to get greasy quickly only use conditioner on the ends of your hair.

Tip 4: Stop using so much heat on your hair

This is an obvious one and that is to try avoid using heat on your hair. Heat further strips the moisture content from your hair making it dry and frizzy. When overused, it can also burn your hair. So maybe cut down your use or if you can’t always, ALWAYS use a heat protector spray.

Tip 5: Avoid Tight Hair Ties

Avoid using super tight hair ties; instead, opt for scrunchies with cloth around them. Tight hair ties tend to pull your hair back real tight which increases friction. This can cause breakage. It also may be the reason for those headaches you’re getting.

Tip 6: Swap to Satin Pillow Covers

Sleeping on satin pillow covers is known to reduce hair breakage due to friction. Cotton and other materials are quite rough in texture so intern, cause more friction on your hair. Ever wondered why you wake up with such frizzy hair? Well this is why.

Tip 7: Avoid back combing and Teasing Your Hair

Avoid teasing your hair; even though it creates a lot of volume and looks good, it ruins the hair texture of your hair!

Tip 8: Cold Water Is Good For your Hair

Use cold water to wash your hair as hot water affects hair the same way as heat styling methods do. When we say cold don’t worry we don’t mean freezing cold, you can use water at room temperature instead. Anything cooler than super hot will benefit your hair.

Tip 9: Be careful when drying

When drying hair, pat dry. Do not ever rub. You might dry your hair faster but the amount of hair that breaks and falls away also doubles up. So, take your time to reduce the amount of breakage. Also, use the lower temperature on your hair dryer to reduce heat damage.

Tip 10: You also need to eat healthier!

Being healthy on the inside will benefit your hair. The healthier you are, the better your hair looks. If you want to have super glossy healthy hair, eating right is a must. Nutrients like vitamins, iron and proteins are essential for your hair growth and health. So, If you are unable to obtain enough from your diet, maybe consider supplements.
